October 2018

Biting Commentary

As has been customary this year, Whereshetoldmetogo will headline this newsletter.  On September 22nd at Parx, in his first race with our new, expanded ownership group, he made quite the first impression making a huge run on the outside in the Gallant Bob Stakes (G3) before taking a nip at Firenze Fire and finishing a game second.  If you haven’t seen it it’s a must watch on our video board.  Great photo from Barbara Livingston captured the essence of that moment (wondering if we might see this photo at the Eclipse awards in January).

Now he is taking some time off in Kentucky before heading for a new barn.  You’ll be hearing from him again in early 2019 and expectations will certainly be higher than ever.

The Other Guy

Also at Parx on September 22nd Threeohtwocassie ran in the Alphabet Soup Stakes.  It was a strange race in that he got jostled at the start fairly severely and then took slowly to the soft turf, finding himself 17 lengths back before making a furious run to finish 3rd; just 4 and a half lengths back.  He has a lot of run in him and will be active all winter in Florida.

Two Year Olds – Mixed Results

Vampa has made some strides in the past couple of months as he fills out physically.  He won consecutive races at Delaware Park and now will look to advance possibly with a try on turf.

Beacos Disco Pants broke his maiden in early October at Delaware Park.  Summer Vow has worked through a significant cut in her mouth which hampered a couple of her efforts and will hopefully make strides next time out.

Crypto Currency continues to be a bit of an enigma.  Probably the most talented of our two year olds, but he’s still filling out and trying to find his niche.

All are expected to run again in early November.

The Next Generation

The next crop of yearlings has entered the fold with Fear None (El Padrino-Red Bank Robin) and a Munnings-Striking Bella filly picked up at the Fasig-Tipton Mid-Atlantic sale followed by a First Samurai-Morning Rush colt (check out that champion’s swagger on his video on the linked page) at the OBS sale.

Many Talents of Black Cloud Stable

We’ve had a lot going on so we made shirts and wrote poetry as we continue to build our brand.  We also need to name a colt and filly so send us your suggestions or interest in joining in a partnership.
